Warm water underfloor heating (UFH) provides effective, energy-efficient heating by evenly distributing radiant heat across the floor, keeping feet warm and creating a cozy atmosphere. With minimal convection, it reduces dust circulation and eliminates the need for bulky radiators, allowing more freedom in room design. UFH operates at lower flow temperatures, typically 20 to 30 degrees lower than radiators, which enhances boiler efficiency and pairs perfectly with heat pumps.
WHY UNDERFLOOR HEATING?
A radiator system primarily heats through convection currents, where hot air rises and warms the ceiling while the floor remains cooler. This method can lead to energy being wasted, as the warmth accumulates at ceiling level rather than being evenly distributed where it’s needed.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Underfloor heating varies hugely in price and there is no set cost per m². The system cost depends on the floor construction, heat source, pipe spacing and type of controls etc. In-screed UFH kits start at £10+vat per m² whereas overfloor/retrofit kits start at £30+vat per m².
